I’m sat at 37,000ft as I write this, bound for Berlin to celebrate my birthday and see in the New Year. Yesterday I shot my last wedding of 2014 and this flight is giving me the perfect time to reflect on the past 12 months.
Put simply, it’s been incredible. My first full year as a wedding photographer and I could never have dreamed of it going the way it did. Just a couple of months ago I picked up a Highly Commended award at The Wedding Industry awards, with only 6 of these being presented to wedding photographers across the country. More importantly, I’ve been able to witness and capture so many beautiful moments between couples and the people they hold so close to them. It’s been amazing to be a part of that.
To every couple who asked me to document their day, thank you. You’ll never know how grateful I am that you allow me to do what I love. When I’m around you, this doesn’t seem much like work at all.
I have so many great weddings lined up across the country and beyond for 2015 – a wedding in the woods, an Indian ceremony in one of the most renowned hotels in the world and a couple of destination weddings planned, too. I still have a few dates left for 2015 so if you’d like me to document the day for you, please get in touch.
I’m excited about the journey ahead; the places I’m going, the people I’ll meet and the stories I’ll share. But for now, here’s a look back at my 2014.
Happy New Year.
